a trip down south.
time flies when you're having fun before you even realise. two incredible days full of happy memories had past since i made the ultimate decision due to overwhelming procrastination from uni and assignments. that is --- a trip down south.
yep. that's what you get when you suffer to make your procrastination dream come true. but i did not regret a single moment from that trip.
the trip down south was in a full rush. due to insufficient and inappropriate arrival time of our family friends from malaysia and hong kong, we had to squeeze the suppose to be 4-5 day trip to only 2 days. and in preparation to bring some friends down south, i volunteered retardedly to drive during the whole trip and it turned out pretty fun! except my ass was about to puncture through that thin layer of skin after continuous 4 hour drives. :(so after i finished my german exam, i rushed home to pack up my stuff and embarked on the journey. first stop was bunbury, where we stopped for some food and bev, wandering around the small harbour. then continued to donnybrook hoping to pluck some fresh apples and pears in the orchards. but sadly we were turned down because there weren't any fruits available to be harvested.
taunton farm was where we spent the night in the outback. it wasn't really a farm but it offered enough to keep us busy. aussie bbq, farm animals, endless photo shooting and the jumping pillow were the highlights. lol.
then we went to leeuwin estate for some wine tasting. sadly the white wines didn't really appeal to me. HAHA. the next stop was the cheese factory, which wasn't really a factory instead they just sold a huge range of home made cheese. those cheeses were really nice though!
the chocolate factory actually looked like a semi factory, where the viewing window at the end made it look like one. the whole place was full with overpriced chocolates and with pretty damn loud chic music being played throughout the time. the chocs were pretty good. we then rushed to canal rock for some epic rock adventure. the place was pristine as, where the blue sky from down under meets the indian ocean. i would have jumped straight into the sea if there was enough time. :)
luckily we managed to reach Simmo's ice cream factory before it closed. well this wasn't really a factory where they showed you how ice cream was made and stuff. just like a normal ice cream shop. we spent the next 30 mins or so for another asian style picnic and boy that sticky date pudding was DA BOMB! lol
we were meant to head home at 3pm but we ended up leaving at 6pm due to the need of visiting busselton jetty. the jetty offers the best scenic view in twilight mode and the water park right in front of it was pretty damn appealing. so coming back for that. :)
to sum up the trip, the journey was full of country road views, orchards filled with golden shimmering grape leaves, grassy plains and blue sky as well as a bunch of wild animals. traveling from one are to another wasn't easy because everything is just too far away from each other. the nearest grocery store was like half-hour drive with a speed of 110k/hr in margaret river! seriously, it wasn't fun. oh yeh, drivers down south are a lot better than the ones here. i have not encountered any shit drivers, well maybe one or two but they were probably from perth anyway. lol.
more photos here since i can't be stuffed uploading them all. lol
